STOPOVER PRIVACY
Your trip.
Your information.
This policy explains data handling in the Stopover app, on this support website, and when you contact support.
Information used by the app
Stopover has no independent user account. It does not ask for your name, email address or passport number to use its travel tools, and it does not read your device’s GPS location.
The app saves trip information you enter: nationality, entry port and time, onward-ticket confirmation, arrival and active-trip status, and itinerary cities and dates. These records also contain identifiers, creation and update times, and the policy content version used for the calculation. This information supports eligibility checks, itinerary planning, departure estimates and reminders.
Language and currency preferences are saved on your device. Downloaded exchange rates are cached so previously fetched rates can remain available offline. Current tax-refund calculations do not save new purchase amounts to the trip; values saved by an earlier version, if any, may remain in existing trip records.
The app contains no advertising or third-party analytics SDKs and does not send usage analytics or crash reports to a developer-operated server. It does not sell trip information or use it for advertising tracking.
iCloud and other online services
Private iCloud sync
Trips are stored locally and can sync through Apple’s CloudKit private database when iCloud is available. Sync uses the Apple Account configured on your device; Stopover does not receive your Apple Account password. The developer does not have access to the contents of your private CloudKit database through the developer console. Apple provides the iCloud service under its own privacy policy.
Exchange rates
The app requests reference rates from Frankfurter. Requests contain a fixed base currency and a list of supported currencies. They do not include your entered amount, selected currency, nationality or trip details. Network services necessarily process connection information to return a response.
According to Frankfurter’s published FAQ, its API does not retain identifying user information, IP-address logs or individual request-URL logs. Frankfurter says its Cloudflare-backed public service provides aggregate traffic statistics. This description is based on the provider’s public statement, checked on September 20, 2026.
City lookup
The current app may send the name of your selected entry city to Apple’s geocoding service and use the resulting city coordinates in a weather-service request. This is a lookup of the city you selected, not your device’s precise location. These requests may occur even when weather information is unavailable and no weather card is shown. Apple handles these services under its privacy policy.
Widgets, reminders and links
A local trip snapshot is shared with the Stopover widget extension on the same device to display the departure countdown. iOS handles scheduled local notifications and Live Activities. These features do not send your trip to a separate Stopover push server.
Policy and travel content are bundled with the current app; automatic remote content updates are not enabled. If you open an external link, the destination website receives the usual browser request and handles data under its own policy.
Storage, controls and deletion
Trip records remain in local storage and, if synced, in your private iCloud storage until removed. “End this trip” stops the countdown and reminders; it does not delete the saved record. The current app does not provide a control to delete all saved trip history.
You can change app preferences, remove individual itinerary stops and manage notification permissions in the app or iOS settings. iCloud use is controlled through your system Apple Account and iCloud settings; changing sync settings does not necessarily delete already stored data.
Deleting the app removes its local app data, but offloading the app preserves local documents and data. Neither action guarantees removal of iCloud data or device backups. You can review Apple’s iCloud storage-management options for Stopover in system settings; available controls and names may vary by iOS version.
For help managing or removing stored data, contact xdx_lab@126.com. We can provide guidance, but cannot inspect or directly delete the contents of your private iCloud database on your behalf. Apple controls the storage and retention behavior of its services and backups.
This website and support email
This is a static website hosted on GitHub Pages. The site includes no analytics scripts, advertising, external fonts, tracking pixels or submission forms, and it does not set its own cookies. GitHub may process connection and request information, including an IP address, to host and protect the site. See the GitHub Privacy Statement for its practices.
An email link opens your email app; it does not send a message automatically. If you choose to email support, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you send. We use that information to answer your request and investigate the issue. Your mail provider and the support mailbox provider also process the email under their respective policies.
Support correspondence is kept as needed to handle your request and relevant follow-up. You can ask us to delete correspondence from the support mailbox by emailing the same address. This does not remove copies held by your email provider or data held in your private iCloud storage. Please avoid sending passport details or other information unnecessary for support.
